What is a home EV charger?

A home charger (or wallbox) is a dedicated 7kW unit wired directly to your consumer unit. It charges four to five times faster than a three-pin plug and is far safer for regular use.

Choosing your charger type

  • Tethered: Comes with a permanently attached cable. Quicker day to day and tidier if you only ever charge one car.
  • Untethered: A socket you plug your own cable into. More flexible if you change cars or share the charger.
